A pharmaceutical company in Thailand has been accused of marketing Viagra to the public in order to boost the sex life of patients.
Pharma and public relations firm Phuket Pharmaceuticals International said a Thai television commercial for the drug,, aired in June in which the drug's female sales representative, Lekhaa Kamran, said that women suffering from erectile dysfunction should take the drug.
The commercial was released to the Thai media on Tuesday, with the statement saying that the drug's female sales representatives should also take the drug if they have any sexual desire.
Phuket Pharmaceuticals International said the commercial was based on a television programme created by a Bangkok doctor named Dr. Abdulmalik Pahak. Dr. Pahak has since been suspended from the practice.
